SMILING DOGS GROOMING CELEBRATES THEIR FIRST YEAR IN HOPATCONG!

 

 

Smiling Dogs Grooming is getting ready to celebrate their first year in Hopatcong. May 16th will mark the date. Tosh and Jo-Ann Herrmann are the owners, and also Hopatcong residents. They would like to thank everyone in Hopatcong and surrounding towns for their friendliness and support, making this first year a success. On May 16th (rain date May 17th) they will be giving away free hotdogs and soda starting at 12:00 while supplies last. Stop by and have a bite to eat in the rear parking area, while enjoying the cool lake breeze.

 

Located at 434 Riverstyx Road, the building itself used to be part of historic downtown Hopatcong. Starting in the 20’s it was a restaurant. Soon after, it became a Gift Shop, Post Office, Bank, Florist and now a Dog Grooming Salon. “We have two German Shepard / Akita boys, Bandit and Rambo that “Smile” when we get home. That’s where the name came from. We have been animal lovers all of our lives and decided to get into the business a few years ago. We treat every fur child like our own.”

 

Jo-Ann does the grooming and is a graduate of Nash Academy Grooming School. All of the grooming takes place with TLC in full view of customers. “Our goal is to provide a clean, safe, stress free environment for your pet.” Judging by their success they accomplish just that. They have recently added more equipment, and will soon be ordering more to accommodate the demand.  In the bathing area there is a floor tub ready to handle any size dog, along with another tub for smaller dogs. All breeds are welcome. The holding area is heated and air-conditioned providing your pet the upmost in safety and comfort. In the rear of the building, Tosh runs a separate business. There he makes Tee shirts, hats, magnets, signs and much more.
